How to Uninstall Canteen
If you need to remove Canteen from your store, follow these steps to ensure a clean uninstall.
Step 1: Remove the App
Go to Settings → Apps and sales channels in your Shopify admin
Find Canteen in the list
Click Remove (or Delete)
Confirm the removal
Step 2: Clean Up the Fee Product
After uninstalling, the "Fee" product may still exist in your store. To remove it:
Go to Products in your Shopify admin
Search for "Fee"
If the Fee product exists, you can safely delete it
Note: If you plan to reinstall Canteen later, you can leave the Fee product — Canteen will reuse it.
Step 3: Check Your Theme
The app embed should be removed automatically, but you can verify:
Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize
Click App embeds
Ensure the Canteen embed is no longer listed or is toggled off
Step 4: Remove POS Tile (if applicable)
If you were using Canteen on POS, the tile should be removed automatically. If it's still showing, you can manually remove it from your POS tile layout.
Will I Lose My Rules?
Yes, uninstalling the app will remove your fee rules. If you reinstall later, you'll need to set them up again. Consider taking screenshots of your rules before uninstalling if you may want to recreate them.
