Setting up Canteen with your Point of Sale (POS)

In this article we will cover to how to setup Canteen for your POS and also common tricks to troubleshooting. Click the title below to read the details.

Setting up Canteen on your POS

Step 1 - Adding the Canteen Tile

When you log into your POS as a store owner or with an account with sufficient permissiosn you should see the "Add tile". From there you will want to select the Canteen app.

Step 2 - Testing

Load up the cart with Rules and tap the Canteen tile. This will run a calculation to apply the correct fees.



Troubleshooting Canteen on your POS

There are a few common issues you may see when you are not seeing appropriate fees in the cart.

  1. Make sure all products you are working with are "Published" in Shopify. This includes the "Fee" product

  2. Make sure all products you are working with have "Point of Sale" sales channel added in Shopify. This includes the "Fee" product

  3. Make sure you do not have any inventory restrictions or limitations on any of the products you are testing with.

  4. Make sure you "tap" the Canteen tile after items are in the cart. If you adjust cart items you will have to re-tap the icon.
